Spider-Man: New Day earned $74.5 million in pre-release screenings before its world premiere on July 31, setting an all-time pre-show box office record.
The previous record belonged to the Marvel film Avengers: Endgame, which collected $60 million in pre-release showings. Analysts believe the film’s opening-weekend gross will reach $500 million, which would make it the best opening of 2026.
The film picks up four years after the events of No Way Home, with Peter Parker continuing to protect New York from crime while his loved ones have no memory of him. Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon return in their lead roles. Hulk and The Punisher also appear, along with an unspecified character played by Sadie Sink, known for her work on Stranger Things.
