Parallel distribution in Russia allows cinema chains to exhibit major international films without direct studio licensing agreements. The arrangement was adopted after major Hollywood studios suspended official theatrical distribution in the country in 2022.
The superhero production was filmed across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Germany. The feature has a running time of two hours and 25 minutes, with American filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton directing after taking over the franchise from Jon Watts.
The ensemble cast includes returning star Zendaya alongside Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, and Liza Colón-Zayas. Oscar-nominated actress Naomi Watts contributes to the film by voicing an artificial intelligence assistant.
