Sandra Bullock has praised her screen daughter Maisie Williams for re-wearing her vintage nineties red carpet looks during the Practical Magic 2 press tour.
The Oscar-winning actress posted a roundup of Williams's outfits from their promotional trip to London, writing on Instagram: "My Antonia girl, you can raid Mama's closet anytime."
Williams, an English actress best known for her role as Arya Stark in the HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones, plays Antonia Owens in the upcoming fantasy sequel.
During a promotional photocall in London on Thursday, Williams stepped out in a black off-the-shoulder dress in the same style that Bullock wore to the 2006 premiere of her biographical film Infamous.
A day earlier, for the world premiere in Leicester Square, Williams wore a custom satin gown by designer Ellie Misner referencing Bullock's ensemble from the 1999 premiere of her romantic comedy Forces of Nature.
Bullock previously recalled being in a "goth period" when she wore a boat neck top and silky skirt in the exact red hue and cut recreated for Williams's satin dress.
Williams paired the premiere outfit with a Roger Vivier satin clutch bag and a ruby and diamond choker.

Bullock noted in her Instagram post that Williams was also inspired by a lace-trimmed floral dress worn in the original 1998 Practical Magic film.
For another day of press appearances in the British capital, Williams selected a similar floral style from British fashion house Paul Smith.
Bullock praised Williams's stylist Dino Bonačić for bringing the classic looks back to life, writing that he "did a beautiful job bringing all of these looks back to life."

Dino Bonačić revealed on Instagram that he and Williams discussed drawing inspiration from Bullock's archival style when they first began preparing for the press tour.
The stylist expressed his enthusiasm for the project, sharing: "I knew I wanted to pay homage to her film mother, who has epitomised the rebellious energy of the 1990s that Maisie oozes with herself."
The homage bridges the original 1990s release with the new chapter, celebrating both archival fashion and the onscreen mother-daughter bond.
New generation of the Owens family
Williams joins the franchise as part of the "next generation of Owens sisters," playing Antonia Owens alongside American actress Joey King, who portrays her older sister Kylie Owens.
Bullock reprises her role as Sally Owens, while Australian actress Nicole Kidman returns as her sister Gillian Owens.
The narrative follows two sisters from a long lineage of witches who attempt to live ordinary lives despite a persistent family curse.
Original cast members Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest return as the Owens family aunts, Jet and Frances, while the ensemble also features Lee Pace and Solly McLeod.
Recasting the original child roles
While Bullock, Kidman, Channing, and Wiest returned to their roles from the 1998 movie, the parts of Sally's daughters were recast for the sequel.
In the original film, Evan Rachel Wood played Kylie Owens at age 11, while Alexandra Artrip portrayed younger daughter Antonia Owens.
Wood revealed that despite offering to return to the role of Kylie, filmmakers decided to recast the character for the new project.
Artrip quit acting following her role in the 1998 movie and currently works for an advertising company.
Return to magic 25 years later
The sequel takes place 25 years after the events of the original film and is adapted from Alice Hoffman's 2021 sequel novel, The Book of Magic.
Kidman and Bullock also serve as executive producers on the Warner Bros. Pictures film. Both actresses have been surprising cinema audiences with unannounced theater appearances during the promotional tour.
According to the official studio synopsis: "The Owens women must once again unite, traveling from their home in Massachusetts to the United Kingdom to confront the source of their magic and save the next generation of their family."
The original Practical Magic grossed $68.3 million globally, according to tracking website The Numbers, falling short of its $75 million budget before becoming a cult classic over the past two decades.
Practical Magic 2 releases in cinemas on September 11.
