Hotel prices for Russian tourists visiting domestic resort destinations during the 2026 autumn velvet season have been revealed in data published by Russian news agency RIA Novosti.
According to industry experts cited in the report, a one-week stay for two adults in the Black Sea resort city of Sochi during the first half of autumn will cost between 30,000 and 63,000 rubles on average.
Budget options elsewhere along the Black Sea coastline offer lower rates for early autumn travel. A seven-night stay for two people in Anapa or Gelendzhik is priced between 23,000 and 46,000 rubles, while week-long hotel accommodation in Crimea starts from 39,000 rubles for two guests.
Sochi, Anapa, and Gelendzhik are among the main seaside vacation hubs in southwestern Russia, while Crimea remains a key resort destination on the northern shore of the Black Sea. The period known as the velvet season covers the first half of autumn, when summer heat recedes and tourist crowds thin out while sea temperatures stay mild.
Baltic Sea Resort Rates
The data also outlined hotel pricing for resort towns along the Baltic Sea coast. In Zelenogradsk, a seven-day stay for two people during the early autumn period ranges from 29,000 to 70,000 rubles, while rates in nearby Svetlogorsk span from 22,000 to 66,000 rubles.
Both Zelenogradsk and Svetlogorsk are coastal resort destinations in Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia's westernmost region situated on the Baltic coast. These northern beach towns draw domestic vacationers seeking milder autumn climates and historic coastal promenades.
Comparison with Turkish Resorts
The domestic pricing figures follow earlier comparisons with international autumn vacation spots, particularly in Turkey. Previous data indicated that booking a five-star hotel in Turkey for two adults during the velvet season starts at 173,000 rubles.
For travellers departing from Moscow between September 11 and September 13, a seven-night package for two adults at hotels in Marmaris, a major resort town on Turkey's Aegean coast, can reach up to 200,000 rubles.
