Russian tourist warns travelers against visiting Anapa

Russian holidaymaker Tatyana has warned tourists against visiting Anapa after experiencing poor lodging, severe water shortages, dirty beaches, and hostile locals during a trip.

Writing on social media in a post highlighted by local news website 93.ru, Tatyana described her stay in the Black Sea coastal city as a bucket of cold water, concluding that people in the area hated all holidaymakers. She urged travelers not to go to places where they were not welcome.

Tatyana had traveled to the resort town alongside her teenage sister for a planned two-week vacation. Problems began immediately after checking into their initial accommodation, when Tatyana attempted to take a shower following their journey, only to be informed by the landlady that there was no water. Although water was restored later, the hot water supply proved sufficient for only one person before running out, though additional hot water was subsequently made available for the landlady's husband upon his return from work. Refusing to tolerate such conditions for two weeks, the sisters decided to leave.

Problems on the shore and lodging search

After checking out, the pair visited the local beach, where they encountered greenish water, floating algae, and an absence of public showers along the shoreline. Tatyana attempted to secure alternative lodging in Bolshoy Utrish, but found no available rooms, forcing her to rent a second room back in Anapa.

The second rental brought further complications when the host unexpectedly decided to house her own relatives in the apartment. Tatyana noted that maintaining a sense of humor was the only factor that enabled them to enjoy any rest, adding that they were forced to travel to Bolshoy Utrish every single day just to access an acceptable beach.

Black Sea tourism and regional complaints

Anapa is a major resort city situated along the northern coast of the Black Sea in Krasnodar Krai, southern Russia, widely known for its sandy coastlines and domestic tourist industry. Nearby Bolshoy Utrish is a coastal settlement located on the Abrau Peninsula south of Anapa, recognized for its natural marine reserve and pebble beaches. Regional news portal 93.ru frequently reports on public service issues, tourism conditions, and municipal infrastructure across the Krasnodar Krai region.

The complaint follows a similar report from another Russian tourist who previously described a resort in Vietnam as Anapa style. That vacationer stated she abandoned a planned visit to the popular VinWonders amusement park complex on Hon Tre Island due to overwhelming crowds of tourists.
