Russia is ready to resume direct flights with Mexico if the Central American country shows interest, the Russian embassy in Mexico City told RIA Novosti.
The diplomatic mission noted that substantive negotiations regarding the launch of direct air services between Russia and Mexico are not currently being conducted. However, the embassy stated that the Russian side remains ready to consider relevant proposals if Mexico demonstrates interest in cooperation.
Flight suspensions and living costs
Direct flights between Russia and Mexico were halted on February 28, 2022. The disruption followed Western sanctions and the closure of airspace.
Earlier, a Russian citizen said it was possible to live in Mexico on 40,000 rubles a month, noting that gasoline was his main expense.
