Rocket Lab Reports Record $234.1 Million Q2 Revenue

Rocket Lab reported record quarterly revenue of $234.1 million in the second quarter of 2026, a 62 percent increase compared to the same period last year. The company reduced its net loss to $49.3 million, down from $66.4 million a year earlier.

Product revenue from Space Systems nearly doubled to $181.3 million to serve as the main driver of growth, while the service division brought in $52.7 million.

Rocket Lab recorded an order backlog of $2.36 billion, marking a 137 percent increase over the year. The company signed more than $1 billion in new contracts during the second quarter and following weeks.

Major agreements include over $437 million for Electron, HASTE, and Neutron rocket launches. The company also secured a $397 million contract to build Flatellite satellites for a U.S. Space Force program detecting moving aerial targets from space, and two contracts worth over $160 million for three U.S. Space Force geostationary satellites.

Acquisitions and Launch Schedule

Rocket Lab forecasts another record revenue quarter between $250 million and $265 million for the third quarter of 2026. The company completed acquisitions of Mynaric and Motiv during the second quarter as part of its effort to expand beyond launch services.

The company expects to close its acquisition of satellite operator Iridium in mid-2027. Following the deal, Rocket Lab plans to combine the development, production, launch, and operation of its own satellite constellations.

The Neutron rocket is in final flight hardware assembly ahead of a potential launch pad rollout in the fourth quarter of 2026, though Rocket Lab warned the window for a first launch by the end of the year has narrowed. Kepler Communications has already ordered a dedicated launch on Neutron for its satellite constellation.
