Pierce Brosnan has shut down rumors that he and MobLand costar Tom Hardy did not get along on set, after reports surfaced earlier this year of behind-the-scenes drama between the two.
"Oh my God, it was a storm in a teacup, really," Brosnan told Press Association in an interview published Sept. 10. "I love the dude. I love Tom Hardy. I'm a massive fan of the man's work. Truly."
The 73-year-old actor said he, Hardy and costar Helen Mirren "are rock solid as a company, as a family."
"Everyone shows up for work, and everybody's just there on the spot," Brosnan said. "It moves very fast so it's not like we go out and socialise and go to the pub or anything like that. Everyone goes home to their families and before you know it, you've done 10 episodes."
What Is MobLand
MobLand follows warring crime families and streams on Paramount+, with Brosnan, Hardy and Mirren among its leads. Hardy is set to rejoin his costars for the show's third season.
Hardy echoed Brosnan's comments in his own interview with PA, calling Brosnan and Mirren "awesome."
"In many aspects of course I look up to them. Coming up, these are actors that came before me," the 48-year-old said. "So to be able to work with them is a privilege, but also to be able to enjoy them, watching them spread their wings with their range now as well, and play against their type in some aspects, and really enjoy that is a beautiful thing to watch as a human being."
"These guys are really talented and they're having a lot of fun," Hardy added.
Mirren on Working With Brosnan and Hardy
Mirren said she was not able to share many scenes with Hardy during MobLand's second season, but described her relationship with Brosnan as "amazing."
"Obviously, Pierce and I have an extraordinary chemistry on-screen and off-screen," she said of her Thursday Murder Club costar. "We're very, very fond of each other. We respect each other enormously."
Mirren and Brosnan both starred in the 2025 film adaptation of Richard Osman's novel The Thursday Murder Club, alongside Ben Kingsley and Celia Imrie.
Asked in June about working with Hardy on future seasons of MobLand, Mirren told Variety, "Absolutely. In a f--king heartbeat."
Backdrop of the Feud Rumors
Brosnan is best known for playing James Bond in four films during the 1990s and 2000s, while Hardy has built a career on roles including Bane in The Dark Knight Rises and the title character in Bronson. Mirren is an Academy Award winner whose decades-long career spans stage and screen.
The trio's comments to Press Association and Variety put to rest speculation, first reported earlier this year, that tension had developed between Brosnan and Hardy while filming MobLand.
