Oppo has unveiled the Oppo A7 Pro Max 5G in China, a smartphone built around its largest battery yet. The device is the first Oppo phone to use a 10,000 mAh battery and the first smartphone in the world to run on Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 platform.
Processor and display
The Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset is built on TSMC's 4nm process. The eight-core processor pairs two Cortex-A78 cores running up to 2.4GHz with six Cortex-A55 cores running up to 2.0GHz, alongside an Adreno G629 GPU. The phone uses LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
Its 6.78-inch AMOLED display offers FHD+ resolution at 2772 x 1272 pixels, a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 10-bit color and peak brightness of up to 1,800 nits. In some gaming scenarios, touch sampling can reach 330Hz.
Cameras and battery
The front camera is a 50MP selfie sensor. On the back, the phone has a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization, a 2MP monochrome sensor, a notification LED and an LED flash. Both front and rear cameras can record video up to 1080p.
The phone's standout feature is its 10,000 mAh Glacier Battery, which uses Oppo's own silicon-carbon battery technology. It supports 80W SuperVOOC fast charging and 80W UFCS charging, along with 27W reverse charging to power other devices.
Durability and software
Despite the large battery, the phone includes an in-display optical fingerprint reader, stereo speakers, NFC, an infrared transmitter and Wi-Fi 5 support. It carries IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K certifications.
Oppo's AI-powered Outdoor Mode 2.0 is designed to improve screen visibility outdoors. The phone runs ColorOS 16, based on Android 16.
Price and colors
The Oppo A7 Pro Max 5G comes in three colors: Wave Rider, Orange Glow and Mountain Black. In China, it is priced at 2,199 yuan ($325) for the 8GB+128GB version, 2,699 yuan ($400) for 12GB+256GB, and 2,999 yuan ($445) for 12GB+512GB.
