Netflix Renews 'House of Guinness' for Season 2

Netflix has officially renewed House of Guinness for a second season, continuing the story of the family behind the famous stout empire, according to the streaming platform.

The drama comes from Steven Knight, the writer known for creating Peaky Blinders and A Thousand Blows, whose style has been described as exaggerated and spectacular but highly effective and gripping once viewers start watching his shows.

What the series covers

House of Guinness premiered on Netflix in 2025. The production centers on the family responsible for building the famous dark beer empire during the 19th century and opens with the death of patriarch Sir Benjamin Guinness in 1868.

The dynasty is at risk

Knight celebrated the renewal and said there was still much of the family's story left to tell. He said it had been a great joy to bring the Guinness story to the screen and that he was thrilled to continue telling the story of one of the world's great dynasties in season two. He also said he intends to dig deeper into the characters and the complex relationships between them as they continue expanding the Guinness empire.

Returning cast

Season two will again feature Arthur, Edward, Anne and Benjamin Guinness, played respectively by Anthony Boyle, Louis Partridge, Emily Fairn and Fionn O'Shea, along with other characters including Sean Rafferty, played by James Norton. The new episodes will show how the siblings evolve and the consequences of decisions made during the first season.

How season one ended

The first season ended with the Guinness family united in backing Arthur's political ambitions, only for the situation to unravel when Patrick Cochrane appeared at his rally intent on killing the eldest brother. The sequence closed on the sound of a gunshot, leaving Arthur's fate unresolved.

What season two will explore

That cliffhanger will be one of the central mysteries of the new season. Knight said he wants viewers to keep wondering where that bullet will end up, adding that he himself is asking where that bullet is going to go. He confirmed the new season will pick up the consequences of that moment.
