MSI has announced the PRO MAX OLED 271UPJW12, a 27-inch monitor built with an inkjet-printed OLED panel supplied by TCL CSOT.

Most traditional OLED monitors are made using the Fine Metal Mask evaporation process, but metal masks used for larger screens can sag or deform over time, which lowers production efficiency and raises costs, according to MSI. The new monitor instead uses an inkjet-printed method that prints OLED material directly onto a glass substrate in microscopic droplets.
Specifications and display quality
MSI describes the PRO MAX OLED 271UPJW12 as the world's first 27-inch 4K 120Hz inkjet-printed OLED monitor. The company said the manufacturing method allows higher production efficiency and lower cost, while also enabling a true RGB subpixel layout, which can sharpen text and reduce the color fringing sometimes seen on OLED screens.
The monitor supports the HDR True Black 500 standard and can reach 1,000 nits of peak brightness. MSI said it ships with factory color accuracy of Delta E less than 2. For productivity, the monitor includes a KVM switch, letting users control two separate devices with one keyboard and mouse.

Anti-reflective coating
The monitor also features an upgraded anti-reflective coating. MSI said the coating raises the screen surface hardness from 2H to 3H, which the company said improves scratch resistance by up to 2.5 times.
MSI has not yet announced pricing or a release date for the PRO MAX OLED 271UPJW12.
