Musician and producer Maurikios Maurikiou has asked followers for time to recover after undergoing a necessary and difficult surgical procedure at Hygeia Hospital.
Maurikiou shared updates regarding his health condition across social media, confirming that the operation was successful while asking fans for two or three days to calm down and regain his strength.
In an initial post published on Wednesday morning, September 2, Maurikiou shared photographs taken from his clinic bed. He described the medical intervention as a major turning point and a milestone for a new start in his life, though he did not reveal the specific nature of his illness.
The artist expressed deep gratitude to his attending physician, Dr. Ioannou, as well as the medical and nursing staff at the hospital. He stated that the successful operation represented a personal decision to transform his entire life rather than just a part of it, while asking for forgiveness for being unable to answer phone calls and messages immediately.
Maurikiou also highlighted the role of his family during his recovery. He dedicated his new beginning to his wife, Ilaira Zisi, and their child, Melodia.
Maurikios Maurikiou is a prominent Cypriot musician, singer, and theatrical producer who works extensively across Greece and Cyprus. Hygeia Hospital, where the surgery was performed, is a major private medical facility based in Athens.
Upcoming Performances and Online Academy
Following his initial written statement, Maurikiou posted a video on Instagram to provide further details about his recovery and his professional schedule. He thanked his audience for their messages and positive energy, while reiterating his request for a few days of quiet because he felt unable to respond to everyone at once.
Despite the demanding surgery, Maurikiou plans an immediate return to his professional duties. He stated that he hopes to be healthy and strong enough to perform live concerts over the upcoming weekend in the Cypriot coastal cities of Paphos and Larnaca.
He also announced that Mavrikiou's Online Art School opens on Monday, September 7, where he expects to resume teaching lessons. Additionally, Maurikiou said he intends to reply to all pending messages regarding bookings for private parties, birthdays, and upcoming winter events.
Maurikiou noted that his wife had sent him her new men's calendar featuring a special personal dedication, which he is using to write down and manage all of his scheduled plans.
