Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson have returned to television together as their new comedy series Brothers premiered on Apple TV on Wednesday.
The eight-part project released its first two episodes at launch, offering audiences their first look at the duo's latest screen collaboration.
In the show, McConaughey and Harrelson play fictionalized versions of themselves who move their respective families onto a single ranch in Texas. Their long-standing friendship faces a major test when the two actors discover that they might actually be biological brothers.
The comedy reunites the two real-life friends, who previously co-starred in the critically acclaimed HBO crime drama series True Detective. McConaughey earned an Academy Award for his performance in Dallas Buyers Club, while Harrelson is a multi-time Emmy nominee recognized for his work in Cheers, Natural Born Killers, and Zombieland.
Cast and production team
The ensemble cast features veteran actress Holland Taylor, known for her performance in The Truman Show, alongside Natalie Martinez from Death Race and Brittany Ishibashi from Eagle Eye. A wider group of actors fills out the supporting cast across the season.
Lee Eisenberg serves as one of the creators of the series. Eisenberg built a reputation in television as a producer on the hit comedy series The Office and has since created several original projects for streaming platforms.
