Lucas González, former member of the Spanish pop duo Andy y Lucas, is recovering in Turkey after undergoing nose surgery carried out by two surgeons, one based in Barcelona and the other Turkish, who worked together to correct his nasal appendix.
The singer said he was very happy with the results of the operation.
Lucas explained that a previous surgery had not gone as planned because he failed to follow his doctors' instructions afterwards. He said he removed his own gauze and skipped applying the creams and ointments he had been told to use, which caused a vein to burst and left his nose unable to heal properly. As a result, he had to return to the operating table, and this time, he said, everything went very well.
A long road to recovery
Lucas said he now faces several more months of recovery. His nose remains swollen, he is taking painkillers and using ointments, and he has been fitted with a cast to protect the area while it heals.
Asked about comments that he looked much better, Lucas agreed, saying the change had been radical and that he was very pleased with the outcome.
Andy y Lucas was one of Spain's best known pop duos, formed by Andy Gonzalez and Lucas Gonzalez in Galicia and popular for hits including "Tanto la quiero." The pair built a large following across Spain before eventually going their separate ways.
Future projects and reunion talk
Lucas is eager to complete his recovery so he can move forward with professional projects he has chosen not to detail publicly. One of them could reportedly be a personal documentary tracing the difficult process that led to his second surgery and what he describes as its happy ending.
There is also speculation that Lucas is in talks with Andy about reviving their duo for a tour across Spain in 2027, though no details have been confirmed.
