Is it just me or is someone else a little obsessed with finding the perfect white T-SHIRT?
Forgive the screaming hats, but a few pieces last longer than a white shirt, and few are that hard to get.
Of course, a simple T-shirt should be just that: T-shaped fabric with a cut-off collar? Ah, if only it were that simple.
I have always believed that the simpler the piece, the more complex it is to perfect it.
Everyone seems obsessed with finding the perfect white shirt. Amanda Wakeley says a plain white tee should be just like that
In fact, fabric is nothing more than a science that begins with design, which leads to the choice of weight, degree of elasticity, look and feel. How will it fall? Will it lock the body or gently embrace it?
That’s why the cut needs to be perfected – and with such a minimalist design, every detail needs to be conquered.
The sleeve and sleeve parts, the part that fits on the chest and of course the collar parts are the cut details that draw my attention.
Finally, the most important brand – T-shirts are by nature often mass-produced – but this is not necessarily a sign of a bad brand.
My passion for white t-shirts started in the 1980s – I bought three packs of Hanes white shirts for men when I lived in America – Miami-Vice style oversized short sleeves, worn with everything.
I now wear my cleanest but never tight (and definitely not coarse Lycra) white t-shirts, and I love to wear them especially for trouser suits. It looks cooler and somehow younger than a blouse.
My favorite white T-shirts in recent years have been from Rag & Bone and James Perse, both incredibly expensive, I have to admit, especially considering that white T-shirts unfortunately don’t last as long as we’d like. .
No matter how much Vanish you add, they either turn annoyingly gray with the wash, or in James Perse’s case, they poke little holes in the fabric because it’s so beautiful.
So, with the mission to find some alternatives at a better price, I decided to try over 30 different styles from different brands and price ranges. Everything to find the perfect white tee for any shape, age or size…

For those who want to cover their arms, opt for this Jigsaw linen top with short sleeves and layered effect kimono sleeves.
For those who want to cover our arms a little more, I love this Jigsaw linen short sleeve blouse with layered effect kimono sleeves (was 32 TL, 65 TL). It’s a bit sheer, so I’d rather wear a brightly colored bra or bralette rather than trying to hide the underwear (it all looks a bit confident and boring, right?). £32, puzzleonline.com

SAVE THE SHIRT!
Unfortunately, white t-shirts can eventually become a very disposable garment – it has to be fresh white to look good (it’s not great for its sustainable properties, and cotton isn’t known to be that eco-friendly). So why not do what I do and when the day comes for your favorite bikini, grab some machine paint and throw it in. So I did it with old white bikinis. It works beautifully and gives a whole new life to a slightly tired looking piece that is too good to throw away.
