Marisa suggests keeping the curtains or blinds closed all day so as not to heat the room anymore.

“Only open them when the sun no longer shines directly through your windows,” he suggests.

“When it’s time for bed, you should find your bedroom a cool and welcoming sanctuary.”

As for the bedroom clothes, fresh linen is another tip from Marisa.

“If the heat in your bedroom is unbearable, try moistening the top sheet with cold water.

“Not only will this give you chills when having sex, it will also lower the temperature of the entire room.”

Another trick is to put a damp sheet between a fan and the bed to cool the circulating air.

“Using ice as part of foreplay can be erotic in itself, but in hot weather, having an ice bucket handy, especially if you have a bottle of champagne, can be a blessing,” says Marisa.

He suggests applying ice to the pulse points for instant freezing.

“Another option is to fill a spray bottle with ice water, which can be really sexy when you’re squirting in your hottest moments.”

Leaving the bedroom, cold shower sex provides the perfect setting when things get too hot.

Marisa adds: “Having sex in a cold shower is a great way to avoid the heat and also the perfect way to recover from the scorching temperatures outside.

As for the positions, Marisa suggests putting aside the traditional missionary position until the heat wave arrives.

“It’s not the best for keeping you cool because being this close creates more heat and sweaty bodies cling to each other.

“With that in mind, positions that don’t require such close proximity to each other are recommended.”
