Is it okay to put mayonnaise on fish and chips? This is the question that currently divides the nation.

Thousands of people are debating the topic of fine dining on Reddit after someone posted a photo of the popular takeaway covered in creamy sauce.

While some people like to dip their fries in a little mayonnaise, others say “there’s no way”, it just doesn’t belong.

The picture posted on the platform shows most of the famous British take-out dishes with mayonnaise and french fries sauce.

It left the nation completely divided on the right way to eat fish and chips.

One person said: “Tamed. My wife puts mayonnaise on chili con carne and rice. I can barely look at it ”.

Another added: “Of course! I’m half Flemish, so I rarely eat French fries or French fries with anything other than mayonnaise. Each fried (or “frituur”) has its own recipe for mayonnaise, so each is slightly different.

“Here I found Heinz mayonnaise to taste the closest.

“However, I can’t understand the decision to have the gravy with fish and chips. Sauce and fish in the batter? If anyone likes it, I guess you! “

For some people, the combination of sauce and mayonnaise wasn’t quite right, with one person saying, “Well, usually yes, but with sauce? And also? No.”

Another commented: “Personally not. Only salt and vinegar “, while another asked:” Yes, but what about tartar? “

Others have been more liberal on the subject, with one social media user adding, “This is a problem you feel the need to ask: Eat what you want, mate!”
