After the completion of the first season of the series, many viewers are wondering whether there will be a continuation of the project. Currently, HBO has not officially renewed the Penguin series for a second season, but director Matt Reeves talked about continuing the story in an interview with Esquire.
“I always said we would continue the story. Originally the idea was to continue this in the next movie (we’re talking “Batman 2” – Note ed.). “I later spoke with producer Dylan Clark and HBO executives Casey Bloys and Sarah Aubrey while discussing the making of the series,” he said.
Before this, Colin Farrell, who played the character of Ozz Cobb in the first season of the series, admitted that he would love to take part in the second season of the project. The actor also shared in an interview that his contract includes participation in at least three films based on Batman.
The director has previously talked about what the upcoming Batman spin-offs will be like. According to Matt Reeves, Penguin is the first spin-off film but it will not be the last.
