|catalogue| 2024: what you need to know about the contemporary art fair

December is adoption month. It is during this period that we gradually begin to accept the weather conditions, the impenetrable darkness after five o’clock in the evening and the fact that it is really cold without a hat. Relieved of the inevitability of life and winter, people begin to look for advantages and reasons to forget about deadlines at least for a while. Here New Year’s decorations, fragrant mulled wine and cozy winter fairs will come to the rescue.

Galleries Association (AGA) is organizing the third contemporary art fair |catalog| between 6-8 December. The main purpose of the exhibition is to support and develop the art market. Within the scope of the Fresh Talents education project, the works of young writers will be exhibited in 55 galleries. To make sure you don’t miss anything important, we have prepared a small guide to the event for you.

Where does it take place?

The event, like last year, will take place on Pyatnitskaya Street, in the historical printing house of Ivan Sytin, also known as the First Model Printing House. Leo Tolstoy, Maxim Gorky, Vladimir Mayakovsky and Sergei Yesenin visited here. We believe that the building’s creative past and complex façade with Gothic entrance and semicircular windows will help transport guests into the world of art.

Why is this important?

There are three obvious reasons why the event is a must-see. Let’s start with the fact that a rare but important dialogue between artists and collectors who will seek out new talents will take place here. We cannot help but mention the purpose of combining galleries in different cities. Masters from different parts of Russia are invited to participate. And finally, the list will include a gesture of solidarity from confident market participants and support for emerging artists.
