Margot Robbie thinks the movie “Babel,” starring party girl movie star Nellie Laroie, is underrated. The actor wonders why the film failed at the box office. Damien Chazelle’s “Babel” grossed just $63 million on an $80 million budget, with only $15 million of that coming from the U.S. domestic market.
“I don’t understand this. Maybe I’m biased because I’m so close to the project and obviously believe in it, but I still can’t understand why people hate it,” Margot Robbie admitted on The Talking Pictures podcast.
At the same time, the “Barbie” star expressed hope that the audience’s opinions about the film will change after a while.
“I wonder in 20 years’ time people will say, ‘Wait, did Babylon ever fail?’ Will he say? “It will be the same as in The Shawshank Redemption, which is now considered a classic, and audiences will wonder how this is possible.”
Damien Chazelle’s “Babel” follows many characters who make careers in Hollywood during the transition from the silent era to the talkie era.
Currently, 34-year-old Margot Robbie is busy filming Wuthering Heights, in which Catherine Earnshaw will star. Her lover Heathcliff will be played by Jacob Elrody.
The star was previously seen on a walk with her husband and newborn child.
