In an age of endless remakes and sequels, many are waiting for the sequel to the cult comedy of the last century. Disney has already prepared a script, but the director is firmly convinced that the film has no place in modern realities.
“Disney has a good script, but the company can’t make this movie today. They can’t make a movie with Jessica in it. Look what they did to Jessica at the theme park. They wrapped him in a cloak!” he said on the Happy Sad Confused podcast.
The director admitted that the film, which features animated characters, was never intended for children. His idea in 1988 was to make a Walt Disney-style film for adults.
In Who Framed Roger Rabbit, private investigator Eddie Valiant (Bob Hoskins) must find out whether Roger Rabbit has been deceived by seductive Jessica Rabbit (Kathleen Turner). When Marvin Acme (Stubby Kaye), the owner of Toontown and Jessica’s alleged lover, is murdered, Roger Rabbit becomes the prime suspect.
