Elon Musk has once again drawn the ire of movie producers for copyright infringement. This time he is accused of stealing scenes from the movie Blade Runner 2049.
The filmmakers filed a lawsuit claiming that AI-generated images showing the launch of a self-driving Tesla robotaxi infringed their copyright, Variety writes.
In the complaint, Alcon Entertainment said Blade Runner 2049, starring Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford, has no connection with Musk or his companies. The lawsuit seeks an injunction that would prevent Musk from copying, exhibiting, distributing, selling or offering for sale anything related to the film. The lawsuit also demands unspecified financial compensation.
Interestingly, the creator of the movie “I Am Robot” had previously filed a complaint against Elon Musk. Among other claims regarding the billionaire’s use of visuals, there is also an indication that Musk copied the robotaxi from them. It is unclear how the producers will resolve this issue among themselves. Musk prefers not to comment on the situation for now.
