Frank Darabont, director of the legendary movie “The Shawshank Redemption”, canceled his retirement for the sake of his favorite TV series. He watches it with his wife.
We’re talking Stranger Things. The director is involved in the production of its final season. In an interview with The Daily Beast, Darabont compared the series to The Shawshank Redemption, which turns 30 this year. According to Darabont, both films are imbued with the spirit of hope.
“My decision to interrupt my well-deserved rest was influenced by the fact that my wife and I really loved this show. There are so many projects now where terrible people do terrible things for materialistic reasons. Stranger Things is a very heartwarming series. That positivity really touched me,” Darabont said.
