True stories of travelers: how to make a wish correctly to go to the Maldives?

The dream of everyone who loves to travel is to go to the Maldives at least once in their life. And it’s even surprising that this place became popular among tourists not so long ago. The first group of holidaymakers only arrived on the island in the early 1970s; At that time, only a few people knew about the Maldives, which was located somewhere in the middle of nowhere. And after a few years the resort became the most desired travel route.

The author of this text believes that all dreams should come true. Dozens of saved images of the island on my phone, endless affirmations before bed, hard work – and here I am. The picture of the snow-white beaches of the island on my wish list suddenly became reality and it turned out that this place and I were made for each other.

My trip there took place in May; An ideal time when there are not many tourists and the weather is still rainless despite the approaching tropical rainy season. So, a nine-hour direct flight to Moscow – Male, a little less than an hour by seaplane – and I found myself in a place that at first glance and one hundred percent coincided with my imagination.

Of course, the Maldives are beautiful in their own right, but their main component is the hotels that cover all the islands. But on this trip, the author completely trusted the Italian company The Cocoon Collection and managed to visit two completely different hotels of the chain during one vacation. But let’s talk about everything in order.

The first point on my tourist route was the You & Me resort, which is only for adults. There are several ways to get to the hotel from Male, the capital of the Republic of Maldives: ferry, boat or seaplane. But let’s be honest, nothing compares to the last option. Therefore, without hesitation, it was decided to reach the destination with the local airline Trans Maldivian Airways. By the way, I think that my magical journey began from this moment. Imagine how the archipelago looks from above.

I’m only there with a 45-minute flight; I am at an ideal hotel for couples and singles in love. You & Me is surrounded by tropical forests and a wide white beach. And on its territory there is absolutely everything to make your holiday as comfortable as possible – restaurants and bars, swimming pool, gym and villas. As I said above, the hotel is aimed at adults, but we are not talking about parties at all. Rather, it is ideal for those who want to spend their holidays in absolute silence and peace.

By the way, everyone will especially enjoy the food here, because in the You & Me area there is an underwater restaurant H2O, where Michelin-starred chef Andrea Berton is in charge of the kitchen. The seating area is only for 20 people, and the menu includes original sets prepared by the chef.

Here, in the middle of the Indian Ocean, all the stories about the paradise island turned out to be true. And if all this time you thought that the sky shines equally for everyone, then in the Maldives the weather is still a little brighter. In You and Me, as in the most romantic movies, a table will be set up in the middle of the beach, candles will be lit and a movie will be shown in the open air. So the plan to fall in love with this world again became a reality thanks to this place.

The next place of my trip was the Joy Island Maldives hotel. It is located in the butterfly-shaped northern Male Atoll. Unlike the first hotel, this one is family-run. And for children, entertainment here is no worse than for parents – take, for example, the kids club, which is open seven days a week.

A must-visit item in the recreation program for adults is a visit to the Dream Spa wellness center. By the way, they have come up with the most romantic couple massage procedure for those traveling with their lovers. It seems like you couldn’t imagine a more perfect date.

But still the main entertainment in the Maldives is snorkeling and diving. Joy Island’s convenient location near coral reefs allows you to see the underwater world of the Indian Ocean in all its diversity. For the author, this was the first experience of diving under water, but there were absolutely no worries about it. In order to end, I will say that, as expected, the week I spent on the island was the best of all my travels. The feeling of permanent happiness here is so captivating that you want to come back again and again.
