Happy birthday Elton John! Fierce and fabulous Elton turns 76 today and he’s in a league of his own when it comes to over-the-top concert attire. And it’s no surprise that the star, who has a birthday on March 25, loves fashion. Over the years, the five-time Grammy Award winner has taken to stages all over the world, which means he needed more than just a few great sets to go with it.

The glam-rock icon has never shied away from glitter, often opting for feathers, furs and shimmering fabrics. And, of course, how can we forget his legendary sunglasses? Through her bold exterior, she has inspired a generation of artists to embrace their wild side, both on and off stage.

Here, Elton John dresses up to receive his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He paired his star with a matching gold gown, hat and platform for the ceremony, which took place in November 1975.
