


Christina Applegate dressed for a night out at the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Feb. 26. The actress, nominated at the awards ceremony, appeared on the red carpet wearing a velvet blazer dress with a long train. She walked the carpet with a cane to help herself after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Christina was accompanied by her 12-year-old daughter, sadiesSelf.

In 2022, Christina starred in the third and final season of her Netflix show, died for me. Her SAG Award nomination is for Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Jen Harding in the series. Her Jen Harding’s performance of Her has been nominated in this category twice at the SAG Awards, but Christina has yet to take home the win. This year it’s against it Raquel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Brunson farm (Elementary Abbot), Jenna Ortega (Wednesday) AND smart jeans (tricks).

Christina announced that she had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in August 2021. Filming for Season 3 of died for me it was postponed after the diagnosis. Christina continued to film the entire third season, but admitted that it was incredibly difficult for her. Ahead of the SAG Awards, she revealed that this would likely be her last acting role, due to the effect the disease was having on her body. This makes the SAGs the final awards Christina is likely to attend as an actress.
“It’s a big deal,” Christina admitted Los Angeles Times. “Right now, I can’t imagine waking up at 5 in the morning and spending 12 to 14 hours on set. I don’t have that in mind right now. However, that doesn’t mean her career in Hollywood is over. The actress plans to continue working despite her health issues, “doing a lot of voice-overs to earn some money to make sure my daughter is fed and we have a home,” she revealed.
Although Christina successfully filmed the last season of died for me, had a hard time looking back. “I don’t like seeing myself fight,” she shared. “Also, I gained £40 due to inactivity and medication. I didn’t look like me and I didn’t feel like me. At one point, I was able to distance myself from my ego and realize what a beautiful piece of television it was.”
