One mother said that after she had an allergic reaction to fillers so severe that her lips looked like “bamboo bamboo” and the swelling “closed her airways” and made it difficult to breathe.
Lauren Evens, of Chester, Cheshire, had the filling done last week, but an hour later her lips began to swell so “big” that she rushed to the Countess of Chester’s emergency room that night.
The 29-year-old was given antihistamines, but the swelling became so severe that he could no longer speak and his airways began to close, so rhesus was rushed and given adrenaline.
The beautician trainee, who has had fillers for four years, wants to raise awareness that such allergies can develop at any time after a painful and frightening experience.
Lauren Evens, of Chester, Cheshire, said that after she had a severe allergic reaction to fillers, her lips looked like “baboon bamboo” and the swelling was “closing” her airways and making it difficult to breathe.

In a clip that later went viral on TikTok, the beauty lover revealed her big lips, which she says are six times her usual pout.
The beauty lover said that she will fill in her lip fillers about once every six months and this time in just under one ml.
Lauren said, “I had lip balm and [beautician] they did, and they were fine, but after about an hour they started swelling and got huge.’
The beautician said that within four hours of the procedure, her lips were “big”.
Lauren said, “My lips were like a baboon’s butt. They’ve grown to about six times their normal size. It was very painful.

How severe anaphylactic shock can be deadly in MINUTES – and it can be caused by drugs, allergies and even Condoms
Anaphylaxis, also known as anaphylactic shock, can be fatal within minutes.
It is a serious and potentially life-threatening reaction to a trigger such as an allergy.
The reaction can be triggered by certain foods, including peanuts and shellfish.
But some medications, bee stings, and even the latex used in condoms can cause a life-threatening reaction.
According to the NHS, it occurs when the immune system overreacts to a trigger.
Symptoms include: feeling light-headed or faint; breathing difficulties – such as rapid, shallow breathing; a rapid heartbeat, panting; moist skin; confusion and fear and collapse or loss of consciousness.
It is considered a medical emergency and requires immediate treatment.
Insect bites are not dangerous for most victims, but a person does not need to have a pre-existing condition to be in danger.
An increased accumulation of stings can cause a person to develop an allergy followed by an anaphylactic reaction from a sting.
“I went into anaphylactic shock. My neck started to swell, causing my airways to close.
He arrived at the hospital around 10:30 pm and did not leave until the next afternoon.
He explained: “I went to the ER and there was great anticipation.
“I waited about six hours and they started to subside as I had antihistamines.
“I fell asleep and they woke me up to give me extra antihistamines and said they were getting bigger and bigger.
“It was scary.”
He continued: ‘My lips were hurting so bad and I was a little nauseous.
“Things went well in the E.R. at first… I couldn’t shut my mouth and had a hard time speaking, but then the nurses rushed me to Rhesus and I couldn’t speak at all.”
“Basically they put me on rhesus and injected me with adrenaline and it worked.”
He continued: “They didn’t tell me much and rushed me to Rhesus.
“When you think of Rhesus and you watch TV shows, you rush out there when life is in danger and I thought, ‘But I got away, I’m fine.
“How am I and did I get kicked out of here?”
She said she was sent home with antihistamines and it took three days for the swelling to go away, but five days later her lips were still sore.
Footage taken by the mother of two children shows her lips so red and swollen that she compared them to the infamous primate’s hind end.
Since then, the clip has garnered more than 23,000 likes, comments, and views on TikTok.
Lauren says, “I’ve had multiple lip fillers and treatments before, and I did this about four weeks ago and I haven’t had a response.
“It is impossible to explain why this happened.

It seems you can be allergic to something at any age and at any time.
“I won’t be getting any more lip fillers anytime soon.
“I want to do an allergy test to see exactly what I’m allergic to, the thought of it happening again is so scary.
“I don’t know if it’s filler or numbing cream.
“I get lip fillers to boost my confidence, I don’t tell people not to have it if they want to, but I say be careful, and more so, the fact that allergies can arise at any time. †
