25 years have passed since the release of the cartoon “Hercules”, and now they decided to shoot it. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo confirmed the project to Variety on November 2, 2022. We’ve rounded up everything you need to know about the upcoming movie, but unfortunately not much.

The makers have confirmed that the project is indeed in development, but Disney has yet to announce an official release date for the movie.

No official plot or trailer has been released either, but the Russo brothers have promised Variety that they’ll bring a modern take on the film. “I think they’re excited to see what we can bring to the movie, not just the reinvention of the animated movie,” Joe told the broadcast. He also assured that the remake would be a musical identical to the original.
“There are questions about how you perceive it musically,” he said. “Today’s viewers are educated on TikTok, right? What do they expect from how this musical looks and feels? It can be a lot of fun and help us push the boundaries a bit in how you present a contemporary musical.”
When and where will it be published
The Hercules remake is likely to hit theaters worldwide and be ready for release on Disney+. Joe Russo did not comment on when or where the project could be viewed.

No official cast has been announced as the movie is currently in early development. Even the title of the movie is kept secret, new or not.

Guy Ritchie will accompany Joe and Anthony Russo as the director of the highly anticipated film. “Guy is perfect for this because he has a passion for experimentation,” Joe told the broadcast. The film’s director also worked on the popular remake of Disney’s Aladdin in 2019.

The remake set will likely be fictional as well, as the original Disney movie was inspired by Greek mythology. The exact shooting location and details have not yet been announced. Most likely, it will also be rendered in Hollywood soundstages with color keys and computer-generated imagery.
