Lindsay Dougherty, running unchallenged, re-elected Chief Conductor of Hollywood’s Teamsters Local 399

Lindsay Doherty, leader of Hollywood’s Teamsters Local 399, was re-elected for a three-year term as larnadar secretary and general manager of the venue. Dougherty, who had no opposition, was first elected to office by the local executive council in May to fill the expiring term of Steve Dayan, who retired after nine years.

Dougherty and his entire cast of associates were elected Thursday night at the local executive board meeting. Dougherty is also director of Teamsters’ Film and Theater Marketing Division and is Vice President of the Western Region for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT).

“I am proud of the team we have assembled to ensure the solvency and viability of our large local union for years to come,” Dougherty said in a statement. “This is an exciting moment in the history of our local union. Our members continue to build their solidarity and power locally, within our industry and internationally. As Secretary of the Treasury, my challenge and goal is to harness this power as we prepare for the next round of negotiations on our major agreements in two years’ time. Other Local 399 leaders elected without opposition included President Kenny Farnell, Vice President Joshua Stahel, Registrar Secretary Phillip Quansa, and administrators Sean Ryan, Alison Taylor, and Joe Mora.

Meanwhile, Ed Duff will step down as local vice president. Duffy, who has served on the executive board for the past 18 years, said in a letter to Local 399 members that he will continue to serve as the venue’s business agent and political director, but took note of his decision to step down. of vice president. Designed to “lead the way” for new leaders in Local 399.

“I have been extremely grateful and fortunate to serve as a member of the Executive Committee during such an important time,” said Duffy. “The complexity of running a local union and the importance of a strong executive committee are essential to ensure the success and support of our members and their families. Teamsters Local 399 currently represents more than 6,000 members in Los Angeles who work in the film and television industry as chauffeurs, ushers, location professionals, casting professionals and kitchen assistants. Local 399 recently welcomed 300 new members from New Mexico who work there in the film and television industry, following a recent decision by IBT’s general board to expand Local 399’s charter.
