Easy to install. New spy thriller all old knives The terrifying turn of a hijacked terrorist plane begins, with over 100 people on board killed. The failed CIA rescue operation in Vienna reveals its ugly leader again eight years later, when the group of questioned Chechen terrorist (Orly Shuka) admits that he has the ability to help them out of exactly this office. The case is suddenly reopened, and Henry Pellem (Chris Payne), one of the CIA agents initially involved, is enlisted by bureau chief Vic Willinger (who has always trusted Lawrence Fishburne) to investigate what he’s long believed in. to be included. Because it’s behind.
This mission brings Henry from London, and he meets up with his sly ex-colleague Bill Compton (the excellent Jonathan Price) and others in Vienna at the time, at a cozy restaurant in Carmel-by-the-Sea, Northern California. Celia Harrison (also Newton), another former colleague, with whom she also shares a passionate romantic background. What will unfold during these encounters and key moments in time is the basis for this compelling spy game written and directed by screenwriter Olen Steinhauer (who is also the author of the book on which it is based). Janus Metz (Borg vs. McEnroe).
Amazon Prime Video Offer gives Pine its second European thriller in the weeks after last week ᲙContractor, he is a fugitive Be born-Bad guys style in Germany. This movie was pretty effective if it was made (in VOD and in limited theatrical release), but it still gives Pine and its constellations a chance to really shine if you’re still patient in some situations.
What really stands out is the reunion dinner, which takes on many new layers of intrigue as Henry and Celia tackle the true reasons, doubts, challenges, and memories of this forced reunion. He is retired and currently married and has two children living in an idyllic setting in Carmel, but frankly this traumatic period of his life is still burning, emotionally devastating. Their meal starts out as a game of cat and mouse, but soon gets complicated when their warm and passionate love comes to the fore both as flashbacks and conversation topics. It’s played almost like a game of chess, but it gets very serious in the end. The host of this story includes other characters involved in the hijacking, namely Carl Stein (Corey Johnson) and the mysterious Lelia Malouf (Ahdi) and Compton. Metz manages to keep all these balls in the air without losing his attention and always maintain the dramatic tension. Besides its Russian connections, the film draws electoral parallels, particularly with a character who blames “American sanctions” for the tragic death of a young Russian girl.
Fortunately, all old knives (A great title with many meanings) He is bestowed for being a top-notch actor, but his talent is sometimes underused by Hollywood but shows up perfectly here, most notably Pine and Newton’s enigmatic range that handles ever-changing changes. Events in the restaurant with incredible craftsmanship. He and Pine make Henry and Celia, their past and present, totally believable, which is necessary here, or the whole soup will fall apart. never ever
Sure, Steinhauer’s script is talkative, especially in that genre, but Metz is never lacking in cinematography. A special tribute to Charlotte Bruce Christensen’s Universal Cinematography and the excellent film editing by Mark Eckersley and Per Sandhol. In fact, this is a very enjoyable movie that I watched on the big screen, as opposed to how most people will see it when it launches on Amazon on Friday. In any case, it is highly recommended.
Check out my video review above, which includes scenes from the movie. Producers Steve Schwartz, Paula May Schwartz, Nick Weschler and Matt Jackson.
