‘Elvis was never racist’: Presley’s ex-wife accuses creators of a biooptic about musician

On the eve of Talk TV with Piers Morgan, Priscilla Presley, the only wife of Elvis Presley, appeared. She gave an interview about her husband at the premiere of Elvis, starring Austin Butler. Although the film showed the friendship between artist and musician B.B. King and their experiences against the backdrop of Martin Luther King’s death, Elvis was still convicted of racism.

“In the movie, Elvis was a racist for a long time. But it was never racist. He had black friends, friends from all over. He liked their music, their style. She liked to be surrounded by black musicians,” Priscilla recalls.

Priscilla admitted that she was terrified of the trend today to look for something about everyone that could be used against them. When Elvis is asked how he feels about what’s going on in the world right now, he replies: “I often think about Elvis thinking about this, what he’s going to do. And he didn’t believe what’s going on in the country right now. It was basically American, it was America.”

Elvis and Priscilla have been together for 14 years, 6 of them married. Due to infidelities and occasional visits to Elvis’ house, they divorced in recent years, but the couple maintained friendly relations until the end of the artist’s life. She admits that she still sees Elvis as the love of her life.
