Launched July 11, 2022 in gay magazine STUBBORN, a petition calls for the government to get rid of the LGBTQIA phobia. Done, Emanuele Macron surrounded himself with a list of politicians who have distinguished themselves for homophobia, support for the Manif pour tous and anti-abortion positions.
Caroline Cayeux’s observations and homophobic defense
The signatories of this petition, including fifty left-wing deputiesdenounce the gravity of the observations made by Caroline Cayeux, current Delegate Minister for Local Authorities.
The latter took a stand in 2012 and 2013 against marriage for all, while holding the position of senator. LR. He claimed that this law was a ” whim “, “a fair opening disrespectful of nature and meaningless “ and finally that “Marriage for all and the right to adoption it is simply not a plan that goes against nature but is more serious. ”
Invited to speak into Public Sénat’s microphone on July 12, Caroline Cayeux once again stood out in a reactionary speech. By the way, he said “to maintain” his observations made in 2012 while denying having used the term “whim”:
“Of course I keep my words, but I have always said that the law, if it were passed, I would apply it. And then, I’ll tell you the same, that I have many friends among all these people. Frankly, it’s a bad test they’re doing to me and it upset me a lot (…). I’ve never been part of La Manif pour tous, I’ve never walked the runway, mind you.
The homophobic dimension of his speech has been heavily criticized, especially on the left. On July 12 the minister apologized on Twitterstating: “My words have hurt many of you. I deeply regret them, they were naturally not appropriate. Equal rights must always be a priority in our action. “
A long list of reactionary macronists
Returning to the petition, it was launched by the rebel MP Andy Kerbrat and was signed in particular by Mathilde Panot, Adrien Quatennens and Danièle Obono between a one hundred signatories. You can read there:
“How can we believe that this government will respect the principle of equality between all and all, will engage in the fight against discrimination and will guarantee gender freedom when the government has three infamous LGBTQIAphobes ?
How can you trust the police when their minister tirelessly defended the legal inequality of LGBTQIA + people, believing that marriage for all was a “Harmful social reform” ? “
Therefore, the petitioners ask ” departure “ by Gerald Darmanin that participated in La Manif pour tous in 2012, when he was a member of the UMP and mayor of Tourcoing. The petition also denounces the Minister for Ecological Transition Christophe Béchu, recalling that the latter has “Signed at current values (…) a forum titled “distortion of marriage ; the weakened Republic “ “ and evokes a “blur of original landmarks”.
