It looks like the Russian language has a champion of length again. AS at the Institute of Russian Language. According to RIA Novosti, the longest word of Pushkin was named.

It turned out to be the adjective “tetrahydropyranylcyclopentyltetrahydropyridopyridine” consisting of 55 letters. As Pavel Katyshev, head of the department of general and Russian linguistics, said, experts used artificial intelligence to determine the record holder. It turned out that this word was included in the title of a patent for an invention registered in 2006.
The expert noted that the Russian language easily “absorbs” complex, multi-component words, so the title of the longest word often moves from one word to another. “This is also because the status of the longest word passes quickly from one unit to another,” Katyshev emphasized.
Previously, according to the Guinness Book of Records, in 2003 the word leader was considered “extremely thoughtful” (35 letters), and even earlier – “x-ray electrocardiography” (33 letters). At the same time, scientists remind: the most common words in the Russian language are not champions in terms of length, but short conjunctions, prepositions and particles, most of which consist of a single letter.
