Scientists said the emergence of the new ocean began on the planet. In the future, Naked Science can enter a part of Africa under the water.

East Africa literally cracks in stitches – and this is not a metaphor. Geologists in the merger of the three lithosphere plates in the Triangle region of Afars (this is Ethiopia, Eritrea and Djibouti region) have recorded unusual activity. Here, Magma rises from the intestines of the world in a free and difficult place. Scientists call this effect “pulse ve and can be a harbinger of large -scale changes.
All this is a mantle plum-one red-hot magma flow rising from the depths of the planet. It moves quite equally in the Red Sea region and the frozen lava here is almost homogeneous. However, in Ethiopia, the situation is completely different: the chemical composition of volcanic rocks is very different, which shows the slow and unbalanced movement of the magma.
The study refers to the place where Nubian, Somalia and Arab plates meet. Somalia slowly goes to the side and slowly separates the east of the continent. As a result, gigantic geological depression occurs – a deepening type of breakage every million years. And in the future, according to researchers, water may rise here and a new ocean will emerge.
In the meantime, other oceans are partially used to store harmful waste. Previously, thousands of barrels of nuclear waste were found at the bottom.
In the meantime, we have recently written which cities are on the verge of extinction. Read more here.
