Users of the banned social network are, to put it mildly, dissatisfied with the new version of the application: for many, the rectangular profile grid has turned into a real nightmare. Instagram CEO* Adam Mosseri commented on the changes.

The entrepreneur stated that despite the anger of the users, they did not plan to return to the old format and explained the reason.
“We introduced a rectangular grid for profiles over the weekend. I understand that some of your photos are in square format. Square images are Instagram’s legacy*, but now most uploaded photos and videos are in portrait orientation. So portrait format is more preferable to landscape or square format. Unfortunately, this creates the need to crop images frequently. I know such changes can cause negative emotions, but in the long run, users will expect their photos and videos to be displayed in full format without cropping. said Mosseri on his profile on the banned social network.
He also added that you can now download Reels for up to three minutes and view a vertical stream of videos of your friends interacting. Mosseri, meanwhile, has almost three million subscribers on the banned social network, where he shares news in detail and answers internet users’ questions. Meanwhile, the Internet is saying goodbye to the square profile grille.
