More than half of the Russians surveyed are ready to spend up to 10 thousand rubles on buying gifts for relatives and friends. VTB Bank shared the results.
24% of respondents will spend 10 to 20 thousand rubles on New Year’s gifts. The majority of people in Moscow and the Moscow region plan to spend more than 20 thousand rubles. 4% of respondents do not plan to buy anything.
Russians’ spending on gifts to family and friends either remained the same or increased slightly compared to 2023. Only 9% of respondents reported a significant increase in spending.
Almost half (42%) of respondents stated that their main goal when planning expenses was to cover their salaries. While 35% stated that they carefully plan their budget for these days, 22% admitted that they spend money spontaneously during the holidays.
