Only two weeks left until the new year. We are all preparing to celebrate the holiday in a way that will leave the best memories. Mikhail Leus, forecaster of the Phobos weather center, told on his Telegram channel what surprises the weather on New Year’s Eve is preparing for Muscovites.
-1… -6 degrees are expected in the capital on the afternoon of December 31st. It is expected between -2…-7 on the night of January 1. The forecaster noted that the chance of precipitation from December 31 to January 1 is 60-65%. The expert added that the weather in Moscow is now like a pendulum – already on Thursday, December 19, “severe frosts” are expected, and the next day the “March thaw” will come.
“This thaw will end around Catholic Christmas, after which it is possible that the pendulum will swing once again. According to today’s forecasts, the New Year will see a negative phase of these temperature fluctuations,” said Mikhail Leus. He also promised to clarify his New Year’s Eve prediction within a week.
