Miley Cyrus does not give up her fight for her hit song Flowers. His lawyers are trying to refute accusations that the singer performed a song that was suspiciously similar to a Bruno Mars song.
Cyrus’ lawyers have filed a formal response to Tempo Music Investments, which owns part of the copyright to Bruno Mars’ song When I Was Your Man. Entertainment Weekly reported, based on official documents, that Miley requested that the company drop the lawsuit on the grounds that she “does not have exclusive rights and therefore no standing to sue for copyright infringement.”
Let’s remember the claim in the lawsuit filed by the record company that the song Flowers, for which Cyrus received her first Grammy statuette, has a melody and harmony similar to the song Mars. A representative from Tempo Music Investments stated that “looking at the combination and number of similarities between the two compositions, it is undeniable that Flowers could not exist without When I Was Your Man.”
