Fashion editor’s diary: Gigi Hadid in Victoria’s Secret campaign, Salma Hayek on the cover of L’Officiel and other fashion news of the week

Hello to all fashion lovers! Your fashion editor is here. There are so many trends and brands in my world that I decided to keep an online journal where I’ll take notes on the most important things in the industry. And although such diaries are often called personal, mine is open to all readers – so you will be aware of the most interesting things.

The shortened work week is over, which means it’s time to take stock of the last five days. This time, representatives of the fashion community discussed the Victoria’s Secret holiday campaign, starring Candice Swanepoel, Taylor Hill and Paloma Elsesser. Another news is the unique Salma Hayek on the cover of L’Officiel.

There were really many interesting events this week, so I suggest you take a short digital journey with me into the latest news from the world of fashion and learn a little more about our domestic brands, advertising campaigns and collections. Shall we begin?

This season O’STIN presents a capsule collection created in collaboration with Soyuzmultfilm studio. Available online exclusively on the O’STIN website and mobile app, this series takes you into the world of your favorite cartoons from childhood. O’STIN designers were inspired by ideas of friendship, childhood and nostalgia and transformed them into clothes that evoke warm and touching memories of carefree days.

The O’STIN collection is dedicated to two Soviet cartoon characters: Umka the bear and a kitten named Woof. The first range included cozy milk-coloured hoodies made from soft fabric, a fluffy appliquéd sweater with a picture of Umka and her mother, snowflake pajama sets and a large shopping bag. And in the second – a hoodie, cozy pajama sets and long sleeves with prints and ironic phrases from the cartoon.

Don’t know which outerwear to choose for winter? We recommend betting on a fashionable sheepskin coat. You can find current and hot options in the collection of the Russian brand Freedom Tag. The brand presented three products in total: a sheepskin coat made of two-color tapestry, an Afghan coat of two different lengths, short fur coats made of two different types of fur – with long fluffy hair in the color “Black Lama” and soft, calm “Beige Lamb”. All sheepskin coats are made of windproof tapestry made in Russia, woven in the Ivanovo region, and a warm lining made of thick eco-fur. The name of feedback sheepskin coats is not accidental; It always provokes a reaction. This is a cozy thing from childhood, I often remember my grandmother’s sofas, bedspreads and how I would run my finger over the pattern before going to sleep to fall asleep.

If there was a “campaign of the week” nomination, Rushev’s new take would definitely win. This time, Gosha Rushev brand introduced the Elysium collection. The muse and face of the New Year’s capsule was the author of the Telegram channel “Mamkina Fashionista” Inna Kombarova, who tried on the image of the Queen of Versailles in a modern, daring interpretation.

By the way, the name of the collection refers to the ancient Greek description of heaven; According to Homer’s understanding, this is “a place where peace and mutual understanding reign.” It is these romantic magical products that are presented in the Rushev New Year’s collection. Intricate braids of chains with large stones resemble New Year’s decorations, and shining stars on necklaces and earrings, combined with images of seraphim, have become a symbol of harmony and the most cherished dream.

As a child, did you ever wonder what lay behind the traditional role of teacher? Emka brand presented its interpretation of the popular fashion format “what’s in my bag” with a special project and told the story of five ordinary teachers from different schools through the prism of fashion. Within the scope of the project, the brand not only looked at the teachers’ bags, but also took photos of the heroes in Emka visuals. The result of the experiment was presented at a photo exhibition held as part of the festival of useful activities and personal development “Something Else” on the territory of the cultural center “Khlebozavod” in Moscow.
