Boomers and millennials once again froze in anticipation. Very soon they will have to consider the next sequel to their favorite childhood movie.
Jumanji 3 will be released on December 11, 2026. Sony announced this. The bosses of the film did not deviate from the usual route and decided to premiere the next part of the film on the eve of the main winter holidays. Jumanji 3 is expected to be directed by Jake Kasdan and will star Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan. Deadline writes that negotiations are already ongoing.
The original Jumanji movie was released in 1995. The film stars the late Robin Williams, Bonnie Hunt, Kirsten Dunst and Bradley Pierce. It became a hit all over the world. The film is about a group of kids who bring the safari game into the reality of their hometown.
In 1996-1999, the UPN television channel filmed a spin-off in the form of the Jumanji animated series. On August 5, 2015, Sony Pictures Entertainment announced that a remake of the film would be released on December 25, 2016. As a result, a sequel called Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was produced. Unlike the original, in the sequel, “Jumanji” became a game console.
In 2019, the third movie, “Jumanji: The Next Level”, again dedicated to the heroes of the second movie, was released.
