Rihanna’s husband ASAP Rocky will be tried for shooting his friend. The meeting will take place in January next year.
At Tuesday’s hearing, Rocky’s trial was postponed from November 12 to January 21. The artist’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, announced that the postponement was necessary in order for ASAP Rocky to attend a charity performance.
“The case was moved partly because Rocky had a benefit concert in Bangkok at the end of November, and partly because we were still dealing with some disclosure issues,” Tacopina told reporters outside the courtroom, according to People.
The incident took place in 2021 with his former friend and plaintiff A$AP Relli. He claims Rocky pointed a semi-automatic handgun at him and fired several times. The incident was recorded by security cameras. The victim is now seeking damages for assault, battery and emotional distress.
