In the sky over Russia you can see one of the brightest comets, Zijinshan. We still have a few more days to admire its beauty, so be sure to look up.

Kommersant writes that it is a short-period comet from the Jupiter family and was discovered on January 11, 1965 by Chinese astronomers at the Zijinshan Observatory in Nanjing.

Its orbital period around the Sun is just over 6.6 years. Comet Zijinshan-ATLAS now has a long tail extending up to 21 degrees; this is approximately 42 times the diameter of the full Moon. In mid-October, the comet becomes visible in the Northern Hemisphere. The last time we were able to observe such a bright comet was in 1997, then it was Hale-Bopp.

By the way, about space: We previously wrote that Russian astronauts broke the record for the longest stay on the ISS. Read more about this here.
