Ilya Averbukh spoke about raising his daughter Leah, whom Elizaveta Arzamasova gave birth to last month. According to the skater, now he and his wife are trying to establish a harmonious relationship between their son Leo and his younger sister.

The athlete explained that the boy “bathed in special love” for three years and now he has to share the attention of his parents with someone else. As Averbukh admits, he sees how difficult it is for the child. “We did not put much pressure on him before birth. But I saw that my son was worried about this. We tell Lev: “You are the best among boys, and now we have the best among girls in our family,” the skater said.
Averbukh added that he started spending more time with his son so as not to feel lonely. Leah, however, does not yet know how to treat him properly. “I am afraid to even touch him again. I was really looking forward to my daughter,” she explained in an interview with ice show director Roman Kostomarov.
The conversation also came to the athlete’s desire to put children on skates. Now he plans to send Leah to figure skating. “I defend this idea with caution. I already thought that theoretically it is possible to somehow reach the age of 75, then my daughter will already be 24, she can already compete in the Olympics,” Averbukh summed up.
