The Coast Guard has uncovered the final communications with passengers of the Titan deep-sea submarine that sank in the summer of 2023. They were revealed at a hearing in the case.
The signals were received by the crew of the accompanying ship Polar Prince. Between nine and ten in the morning, the two ships exchanged information about that fateful day.
Messages sent from the Titan submarine before it sank said that the passengers were experiencing communication problems but were otherwise fine. Contact with the Titan was lost after that. Four days later, some of the Titan’s wreckage was found about 500 meters from the Titanic.
Let us also recall that the private bathroom cap Titan was lost in the Atlantic Ocean on June 18 while heading towards the wreck of the Titanic. On June 22, CNN reported that the crew members were presumed dead.
In May of this year, billionaire Larry Connor announced plans to go to the site of the Titanic sinking with his own deep-sea submarine. The cost of a two-person submarine is almost two billion rubles.
On the anniversary of the sinking of the Titan, its creator, Guillermo Sonlein, announced that he would make new trips to the site of the sinking of the Titanic. According to him, death is one of the risks of such events.
