The Crow creator Rupert Sanders is considering a sequel. The film was well-received by audiences and could see a sequel made.
The film topped the Russian box office this weekend, earning 95 million rubles, the Kinobusiness portal writes. The reimagined Gothic fantasy starring Bill Skarsgård surpassed Soul Collector, along with Nicolas Cage, Wolverine and Deadpool.
In the world, “The Crow” is also a success. Sanders insists he’s filming a story that’s already been completed, but he gave fans hope in a recent interview with Variety.
“I gave it everything I could creatively, but I’m sure after a couple of weeks of not doing anything, after the movie has been off my radar for a while, I’ll start to get that itch and think, ‘Maybe this could happen…’ Let’s see. If we can create something incredible for the next chapter, that would be great,” Sanders said.
The director recently stated that his film has little in common with the original The Crow from 1994. However, Sanders banned the use of any weapon capable of shooting on set, except for airsoft guns. It should also be noted that lead actor Brandon Lee died on a film set three decades ago. The 28-year-old actor was killed in one of the action scenes.
