The legendary Dutch artist was buried in the municipal cemetery in Auvers-sur-Oise, France. Kuzmich arrived dressed in all white, with a whitened face and a shovel. Several tourists were waiting for him at the cemetery.

The artist addressed them: “Good day, friends! You have come here with sadness. I understand you. I too cannot bear to live in a world without artists. But from now on everything will be different.”

However, Kuzmich was unable to fully dig the coffin, and was prevented from doing so by a cemetery attendant who knocked the Belarusian activist to the ground.
