Viewers of “Rust” will never see the scene where Alec Baldwin fires the fatal shot. That part of the movie was re-shot.
Despite Galina Hutchins dying during rehearsals for the episode, they decided to completely change her. The changes were made after Alec Baldwin was acquitted, an insider tells PEOPLE. “They cut and rewrote the church scene that they had rehearsed,” a source tells PEOPLE.

After the death of Galina Hutchins, the production of the film “Rust” was in jeopardy. First of all, the investigation into the murder of the operator was affected. Also, a few weeks after the incident, another member of the film crew was bitten by a deadly spider. Lighting specialist Jason Miller underwent extensive treatment to prevent amputation of his arm.
Work on the film resumed in 2023 and post-production was completed this spring. It is still unknown when “Rust” will be released. The producers are looking for a distributor.
