A court has dismissed the lawsuit filed against Alec Baldwin in the killing of camerawoman Galina Hutchins on the set of the movie “Rust,” CBS News reports.

Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer found significant irregularities in the evidence. Prosecutors had not given the defense the bullets included in the investigation materials in March. This means that a retrial against the actor is impossible (based on the principle of double jeopardy). One of the two prosecutors, Erlinda Johnson, has also reportedly resigned.
Let’s remember that in 2021, on the set of the movie “Rust”, Alec Baldwin, who played the lead role, fired a gun at camerawoman Galina Hutchins. The woman died, while director Joel Sauce was injured. According to the assistant director, Baldwin was told that there were no real bullets in the gun. The court has already convicted security coordinator David Halls. He was found guilty of negligence and sentenced to a six-month suspended sentence. In the spring of 2023, Alec Baldwin was cleared of all charges. However, earlier this year, the actor was charged again.
