Every year, June marks Pride Month, celebrating and highlighting the experiences and struggles of LGBTQI+ people. In 2024, it has a bittersweet taste, overshadowed by the rise of the far right and the ambient climate of uninhibited transphobia. The weekend promises to be intense for struggles because Sunday will see the crucial first round of legislative elections. But before that, on Saturday, several cities are organizing their annual Pride march. At a time when it is essential to stand together against LGBTphobic hate, here is a list of the marches organized this weekend.
The processions of Saturday 29 June
If you live in Amiens, Biarritz, Calais, Carcassonne, Laval, Lons-le-Saunier, Lorient, Mende, Nîmes, Paris or Tarbes, a pride march will be organized in your city this Saturday.
- Amiens : Departure at 1pm from Place Léon Gontier.
- Biarritz: Departure at 4pm from the Plateau du Phare, where the walk will head towards the municipal casino through the streets of the city.
- Calais: Departure at 4pm from Place Albert 1er.
- Carcassonne: Meeting at 4pm in André Chénier square.
- Laval: Departure at 2pm from Square Boston.
- Lons-le-Saunier: The procession will start at 3pm from the Parc des Bains
- Lorient : Departure at 2pm from Place Glotin
- Menda: Start of the walk at 5pm, Émile Joly square (Place du Foirail)
- Nimes: Departure from the Charles de Gaulle Esplanade at 4pm for the procession which will travel along Boulevard Amiral Courbet, Boulevard Gambetta and Victor Hugo
- Paris: The procession will leave from Porte de la Villette at 1.30pm, heading for Place de la République.
- Tarbes: The event will start at 4:30 pm from Place de Verdun.
