Donald Trump’s Media Company Plans “Not Wake Up Alternative” to Netflix and Disney +; Streaming Slate to present “Canceled Shows”

Donald Trump’s emerging media and technology company sought to refine its business plans, promising in a new SEC announcement that its next streaming service will be an “un-awakened alternative” to Netflix and Disney +.

Following the merger of the blank check firm (or SPAC) with Digital World Acquisition, Trump Media and Technology Group has begun the road to public listing, pending regulatory approval by the end of 2022. DWAC is already a ‘ public offering, but it is currently the only shell company in Trump’s $ 1 billion media effort backed by a variety of investors.

TMTG launched on social media, Truth Social launched earlier this year. It therefore plans to move to other sectors, designating TMTG + as the streaming giants.

This morning, the former president’s company outlined its plans in more detail in the extended prospectus it filed with the SEC.

Programming on TMTG +, the document states, includes “blue-collar comedy, canceled shows, Trump-specific shows, religious shows, family fun, shows including the Second Amendment and news.”

TMTG +, the prospectus adds, “provides a platform for conservative and / or libertarian views and discarded content from other television broadcasting and / or digital platforms.”

The podcast also positions itself as an element of the TMTG + offering.

The subscription streaming section will be “similar to Netflix, Disney + and other current offerings,” the statement said. But regardless of political orientation, TMTG intends to produce or purchase entertainment for entertainment purposes only. Therefore, TMTG programming offers an unknown alternative to the shows offered by streaming services operating in an increasingly politicized environment. “TMTG will not censor TMTG + entertainment creators, nor will it insist that their programs provoke certain political ideologies.”

The company sees “an urgent need for quality programming that does not preach its viewers or is not just an ‘accepted’ approach to the topic.” Animators and creators have often been agents of change in our society. Large media conglomerates are becoming increasingly monolithic in their views, detaching themselves from those who disagree with the prevailing narrative. TMTG believes that, considering a variety of perspectives, TMTG + stands out in today’s crowded media and entertainment market.
